At KITRO, the Software Development Team prides itself to design and implement solutions to process food waste measurements collected by our devices and develop web applications to help customers to take appropriate food waste reduction actions. We are a young, ambitious company with the goal to restore the value of food so that it is appreciated and not wasted. Seeing food go to waste in the food service industry first-hand, inspired us to bring an end to this avoidable waste. Using cutting edge AI technology, we support the industry with an innovative product to measure and analyse food waste empowering customers to optimise their work practises and reduce their food waste by up to 60%.

Your Job & Responsibilities

  • Strategic Leadership: Provide visionary leadership to the software development team, aligning technology initiatives with KITRO’s overall business objectives.
  • Team Management: Manage and mentor a team of software developers, fostering a culture of innovation, collaboration, and excellence.
  • Product Development: Drive the design, development, and delivery of software solutions that meet the evolving needs of our clients and contribute to the growth of KITRO’s product portfolio.
  • Quality Assurance: Establish and enforce rigorous quality assurance processes to ensure that all software products meet or exceed industry standards.
  • Roadmapping: Work in collaboration with KITRO's CTO to define a software development roadmap and prioritize projects according to KITRO's goals
  • Collaboration: Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including product management, hardware engineering, and data analytics, to ensure seamless integration of software solutions.
  • Innovation and Research: Stay abreast of industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in software development, and apply them to enhance KITRO’s technological capabilities.

Skills and Requirements

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
  • Proven track record of at least 3 years in software development, with a minimum of 1 year in a leadership or managerial role.
  • Extensive experience with Python, ReactJS, AWS, and SQL
  • Strong strategic thinking, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to convey technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Previous experience in the hospitality or food industry or sustainability sectors is a plus.
  • You can communicate fluently in English.
  • Lastly, you appreciate sarcasm, bad jokes and table soccer 😉.
