About KITRO
Our mission is to use the technological possibilities of our time to consciously experience the value of food and to support gastronomes in promoting the sustainable use of food. We call ourselves KITRONs and are an international team of hospitality experts, professional tinkerers, code wizards as well as sales talent.
In the beginning, the idea was to reduce the daily waste of food by recording waste, analyzing it and making it presentable. Today, we can proudly claim to have developed a solution that, in combination with cloud software and artificial intelligence, helps to reduce food waste in various kitchens on an international scale.
Your Position
You will contribute to the architecture and development of our software platform, implementing technical solutions for processing and analysing vast streams of IoT data from our devices, while building scalable systems that deliver actionable, real-time insights to our customers.
Responsibilities
Implement frontend features and contribute to backend services, ensuring seamless integration between the user interface and data processing layers.
Take ownership of assigned features from development to deployment, managing your own tasks effectively and maintaining a steady delivery pace in an agile environment.
Collaborate closely with the product to deliver rapid prototypes and innovative user experiences.
Write clean, tested, scalable, and well-documented code. Participate in system design discussions and contribute to the team’s code review process to maintain high quality.
Monitor system performance to identify bugs or bottlenecks, working with the team to troubleshoot and ship improvements.
Skills
3-5 years developing software, with foundational knowledge of our tech stack (Git, React and TypeScript, Python, Postgres, and AWS services)
Experience in fast-paced environments such as start-ups or creative agencies
Visual and UX awareness with attention to detail
Ability to help design and create new systems together with senior engineers.
Good communication skills and the ability to collaborate with team members
Experience with Agile methodologies (e.g., Scrum, Kanban)
Nice to Have Skills
Experience with Vue.js
Experience with the Chalice Python package
Direct experience building applications using LLMs
Experience with infrastructure as code with Terraform
Experience with GitLab CI/CD
